Parks and Rec to host photo contest,  virtual stuffed animal pageant

The Morristown Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting “Click and Send” photo contests throughout 2021.

Morristown residents are invited to help showcase the community through photos for a chance to win prizes.

“Click and Send” is a new monthly contest that encourages beginner and novice photographers to submit photos to be shared on various media formats throughout the year. The department will announce a new theme each month and ask photographers to submit their photos along with an entry form via email to

Camera and cell phone photos will be accepted. Participants may submit one photo per month.

The first winner was Jessica Rosenbalm who submitted a photo for the theme “Colonnades.” Her picture shows the view from the colonnades at Fulton-Hill Park.

The “Stuffed Animal Pageant” is a yearly favorite at Talley Ward Recreation Center.

Many children have their favorite stuffed animals. This contest gives them the opportunity to enter their favorites in the pageant and win prizes for various categories.

This year, with social distancing concerns, the event will be modified with participants taking their favorites to the parks for a fun-photo session. The theme this year is “Park Fun.” Categories include “Park Adventure Guide,” “Stuffed Animal Picnic,” and “No Social Distancing required Stuffed Animal Hug.”

Eligible participants ages 5 to 12 can submit one entry per category. Along with photos, parents should send the child’s name and the stuffed animal’s name(s) no later than Jan. 29.
