The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Saturday night that Robbie Leigh Hodge was the victim of the officer-involved shooting.
The TBI is currently investigating the case.
According to the TBI, the Grainger County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a man firing shots inside a home on Rocky Branch Road in Rutledge.
Deputies from Grainger County, along with officers from the Rutledge Police Department and Bean Station Police Department, descended on the home.
As officers arrived, they made contact with Hodge.
During the altercation, an officer from the Bean Station Police Department and the Rutledge Police Department fired their weapons at Hodge, striking him.
The TBI said the circumstances for the officers firing at Hodge are still under investigation.
Fourth District Attorney General Jimmy Dunn requested the TBI investigate the shooting.
The findings will be given to Dunn after the investigation is complete.
