The law firm of Bacon, Jessee, Perkins, Carroll and Anderson, LLP of Morristown recently announced the arrival of the firm’s new associate attorney, Evan Newman.
Newman is a resident and native of Grainger County, where his family has lived for multiple generations.
Newman studied law at the Nashville School of Law, where he was a graduate of the Class of 2016. He graduated from the University of Tennessee for his undergraduate studies in 2012 with highest honors and is also a 2008 graduate of Rutledge High School and a 2010 graduate of Walters State Community College.
Upon graduating law school and passing the Tennessee State Bar Exam, he interned and practiced law under the tutelage of the preeminent Nashville Criminal Defense and DUI attorney Bernie McEvoy. Newman clerked at the Nashville law firm of Ortale, Kelley, Herbert and Crawford throughout his law studies at the Nashville School of Law. He additionally participated in the Nashville School of Law’s Legal Clinic during his last year of law school.
Newman is a lifelong active member of Block Springs Baptist Church in Blaine.
At Block Springs, he has taught the youth Sunday school class and been an usher and greeter.
Newman said he is very pleased and excited to be able to practice law back in his native East Tennessee area.
He will primarily focus his practice in the areas of criminal law, DUI, family and juvenile law and general civil litigation; but he will also assist the firm’s partners in the areas of probate and real estate law.
