A motorcyclist suffered a compound leg fracture and other injuries in a one-vehicle crash at the intersection Greenbriar and Wells roads in West Hamblen County
Gregory S. Lane, a 51-year-old man who gave a White Pine address, was in a trauma surgical intensive care unit, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Lane was southbound on Wells Road on a 2002 Honda around 5:40 p.m. when he lost control of the bike as he approached Greenbriar Road. Lane rolled off the left side of the roadway and collided with a utility pole before traveling into a barbed-wire fence, according to Sgt. Jason Lowe with the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Lowe reported “alcohol was present at the scene,” and possible charges are pending.
