A Morristown woman was jailed on heroin, methamphetamine and other drug-related charges last week after she was found passed out in her vehicle at Fred Miller Park, according to authorities.

Jodi Sumpter, 33, Lennie Avenue, allegedly was holding a quarter-gram of a heroin and meth mixture, a quarter-gram of meth, two-and-a-half Valium pills for which she had no prescription and drug paraphernalia, according to Detective Pete Shockley, a narcotics investigator with the Morristown Police Department.

Officers Matt Webb and Paul Carter were dispatched to Fred Miller Park around 9:30 p.m. Thursday to investigate a possible drug overdose. Sumpter gave police permission to search her vehicle and voluntarily surrendered the heroin and meth mixture, according to a police report.

Due to unspecified “health problems,” Sumpter was cited into court in lieu of arrest.
