Morristown Post Office gearing up to Stamp Out Hunger

Daily Bread Community Kitchen President Larry Shropshire presents Rural Carrier Lois Ramsey and City Carrier Ron Cook awards for having the largest quantity of food picked up on their route during the 2017 Stamp Out Hunger food drive.

Since 1995, the employees at the Morristown Post Office have donated all the food they collect from the Stamp Out Hunger drive to the Daily Bread Kitchen.

Their efforts, along with the help of the community have enabled the Daily Bread to provide over 1.5 million meals to the less fortunate in our community.

“The Morristown Community is so generous and kind in their support for the food drive and in the Daily Bread work,” Larry Shropshire, Daily Bread President, said. “I would like to say thank you to all the Morristown Post Office employees who work so hard to make the drive a success each year, and to the people who donate the food next to their mailbox each year on the second Saturday in May to help feed the hungry.”

Last year, the food donations totaled 12,000 pounds. The 26th Annual Food Drive is May 12.

Please fill the designated bags the mail carrier gives you with canned goods and non-perishable foods and leave it by your mailbox.
