A holiday tradition in Morristown returns for its fifth year this upcoming Saturday, Dec. 7.
The fifth annual Jingle Run for Hope 5K, presented by Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System, is slated for downtown Morristown on Saturday morning. The 5K run or walk begins at 8 a.m.
The run starts and finishes in historic Downtown Morristown, with a course that features mild elevation changes and a scenic route. Saturday’s race, which is a rain or shine event, also is a festive event, with runners encouraged to deck out in their best exercise gear and holiday outfits.
The race benefits the Patient Assistance Fund at the Morristown Regional Cancer Center. The fund provides assistance to patients at Morristown Regional Cancer Center diagnosed with cancer when they need it most.
Participants are supported on the well-marked course with chip timing and medical assistance available.
There is a mandatory race meeting at the start/finish line at 7:45 a.m., with the race beginning at 8 a.m.
Registration is still available at JingleRunForHope.com until Friday evening. Day of registration will also be held up until 7:45 a.m. in downtown Morristown on Saturday morning.
