The Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce announced Wednesday it will be partnering with Morristown Pediatric Dentistry to bring the 2021 Morristown Christmas Lights Parade to the community.
This year’s parade will be held on Thursday, Dec. 2 in downtown Morristown.
The parade will start off at 7 p.m. at the corner of West Main St. and Jackson St.
Applications for the Christmas Lights Parade are available at the Chamber office on 825 W. First North Street and on-line on the downtown Morristown TN Facebook page or the Morristown Area Chamber website.
The parade will follow the traditional route through downtown Morristown and disperse in the parking lot at HomeTrust Bank, 120 Evans Ave.
“There is a great deal of excitement about this year’s Christmas Lights Parade, especially since COVID prevented the community from enjoying a parade in 2020,” Heather Blackmon Brooks, downtown coordinator for the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce and parade coordinator, said. “I am pleased to announce that this year’s parade theme is ‘Have Yourself a Musical Little Christmas.’ Parade participants are to choose a Christmas song to represent their entry and decorate their float in the theme of the song. We are anticipating a great crowd of both participants and spectators, and we are looking forward to hosting one of the best parades ever.”
She thanked the parade sponsor and encouraged groups to participate.
“We are encouraging churches, civic organizations, businesses, community and youth groups to get together and build a float or decorate a vehicle and join us in celebrating the season with music and lights,” Blackmon-Brooks continued, “We certainly appreciate the enthusiasm of our parade sponsor Morristown Pediatric Dentistry for supporting this event and encouraging their friends and peers to join them as parade participants.”
There is a fee required for all units entering the parade and registration is required.
Fees, parade rules and regulations are included on the registration form.
Deadline to return your parade registration is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19.
Late entries will not be accepted.
Questions about the parade should be directed to Heather Blackmon-Brooks at 423-312-1476.
