A 65-year-old man faces first-degree murder and aggravated assault charges after authorities said he shot and killed a man in Cocke County Monday evening.
Cocke County authorities identified James Dennard Raspberry as the suspect charged in the incident.
According to a report, deputies responded to Crane Way in Del Rio around 5:30 p.m. when a woman called to say a neighbor shot her husband.
When deputies arrived, Raspberry was standing behind a tree in the yard.
The man who was shot, Joseph Carter, was found dead in a van. A 10-month-old child was next to Carter, in a car seat, and authorities pulled the child out of the van safely. The report said Carter was found dead in the van.
