Local student attends governor’s school for humanities

Emmie Barnett, of Talbolt, is attending the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Humanities this month at the University of Tennessee at Martin.

She is one of 56 high school juniors and seniors participating in the program this year.

Tennessee Governor’s Schools are offered in a variety of topics at several locations across the state and provide college courses for credit as well as extracurricular and hands-on activities in the chosen academic areas. UT Martin hosts both the humanities and agricultural science programs on its main campus in northwest Tennessee each June.
