Let It Snow

Snow lays across the arches at Fulton-Hill Park. Lakeway Area residents woke up to a white December Tuesday morning. The National Weather Service in Morristown first estimated there would be about two-tenths of an inch to fall. But, more came than expected. “It kept up longer than we thought,” said Tim Doyle, forecaster for the National Weather Service. Doyle said at the weather station in Morristown at least an inch fell by 7 a.m.. In other surrounding places like New Tazewell and Greeneville about three inches of snow fell, he said. Cosby recorded 3.5 inches and at the top of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a whopping 11 inches of snow fell on Mt. LeConte.
