Knights of Columbus awards fund to area non-profits

The Knights of Columbus Council 6730 at St. Patrick Catholic Church presented funds to area non-profits that work with special education and children with special needs.

The Knights of Columbus Council 6730 at St. Patrick Catholic Church followed on their annual presentation donation to special education and children with special needs.

These funds are raised through various events conducted throughout the year in conjunction with the M.R. Foundation of Tennessee, Inc., a Tennessee Knights of Columbus Charity.

This year, Council 6730 in Morristown matched the amount donated by the M.R. Foundation for a total of $582 to each recipient. Those receiving funds are the multi-handicap program at Lincoln Heights Elementary, the special education program at Manley Elementary Preschool, Smoky Mountain Area 10 Special Olympics and the Ridin’ High Academy.

Council 6730 also sponsored a breakfast for special education children from Morristown-Hamblen High School East at Shoney’s and donated $1,000 for a trip to Dollywood.
