Head Start taking applications for 2020-21 school year

Hamblen County Head Start is now taking applications for 3 and 4 year-old children for the 2020-2021 school year.

A child can be no older than age 5 before August 15 to be age eligible. The program is designed for low-income families who meet certain eligibility requirements set by federal guidelines.

Head Start is a federally funded comprehensive program providing health and social services, a pre-Kindergarten readiness educational curriculum, and a nutritional program that provides two-thirds of the daily nutritional needs of children. Head Start is also interested in the recruitment of children with disabilities, or other health impairments that require special education and/or related services. Head Start is currently accepting phone applications for the 2020-2021 school year.
