A Bean Station motorcyclist last seen alive Wednesday afternoon was found dead Saturday at the bottom of a ravine off Boat Dock Road in West Hamblen County, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Trooper Jeffrey Coffey identified the deceased as Brian W. Manning. He was 39.
Manning, who was riding a 2009 Kawasaki ZX600, was northbound on Boat Dock Road when he lost control of the bike as he was negotiating a turn to the right.
The bike left the roadway on the left side, went airborne and traveled into the ravine before striking a tree, according to Coffey.
It’s unknowable whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the fatal crash. The medical examiner cannot make an accurate determination “due to the condition of the body,” the crash report states.
Funeral arrangements had not been announced by press time.
