Law enforcement officials in the Lakeway Area are attempting to locate a Hamblen County man who allegedly was involved in a gunfire-related incident with he parents in Greene County on Thursday.

Rainbow Mountain Drinnon, a 39-year-old man who lives on Buggy Road, will be charged with two counts of aggravated assault when he’s taken into custody, according to Greene County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Ben Stewart.

The sheriff’s department issued a bulletin involving Drinnon Thursday afternoon, but he remained at large by late this morning. He’s reportedly armed with a handgun and a long gun, according to radio traffic broadcast on a law enforcement frequency. He was last seen driving a white Chevrolet Trailblazer

Drinnon had money on his mind when the Dyer Hollow Road residence of his mother, Hyla Drinnon, Thursday afternoon. The defendant’s father, Larry Drinnon, who gave a Hamblen County address, was also there, and was preparing to leave when the defendant asked for a loan, according to an offense report.

“They told him they didn’t have any money to give them,” the offense report states. “The victims then started down the driveway. Victim Larry Drinnon was driving and looked in his mirror and (saw) the offender pull a pistol out of his pocket and point a pistol at his truck and fire a shot at the victims,” the offense report states.
