The third annual “Sundown on Depot” car show will again be a part of the 25th Annual Iris Festival on Saturday, May 18, from noon to 7 p.m. on West Depot Street.

The show, which is being promoted across the southeast, is open to all cars, trucks and bikes, with dash plaques to be given to the first 200 registered participants.

There will also be door prizes and cash prizes. All proceeds from the charity event will go to Holston United Methodist Home for Children. Registration is $10 per vehicle. For more information on the show, contact Bill Collins, 423-552-8376, or Mike Boles, 423-638-4558.

The Capitol Theatre, located adjacent to Depot Street, will offer a 5 p.m. showing of the classic movie “Smokey and the Bandit.” Doors will open at 4:30. Cost is $5.

The Iris Festival will be held Saturday and Saturday, May 18 - 19, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
