Eight charged in New Tazewell drug bust

Eight people are facing drug charges in a drug bust in New Tazewell Monday.

The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team Monday executed a narcotics search warrant at a Vista Drive residence in New Tazewell.

The homeowner, Daniel Ray Johnson, 36, was charged with maintaining a dwelling with known drug offenses.

Kristy Cooper Money, 42, was charged with two counts of sale of Schedule II controlled substances.

Jeremy Walker, 34; Ricky Minton, 40; Ashley Carver, 31; Angela Sands, 48; were charged with possession of Schedule II controlled substances.

Gary Bunch, Jr., 28, was charged with possession of Schedule III controlled substances and Christina Day, 26, for outstanding warrants in Claiborne County.

Detectives and agents with the CCSO and the Eighth Judicial District Drug Task Force located and seized numerous quantities of Methamphetamine, Subutex and cash from the residence. The search warrant was part of a lengthy investigation stemming from undercover narcotic purchases from inside the house. All suspects were taken to Claiborne County Jail.
