A couple was arrested over the weekend after narcotics investigators found them with almost 44 grams of methamphetamine in their car at a local hotel, authorities said.
Michael Blake Dobbs, 31, of Church Hill, and Chloe Madeline Ramsey, 24, were arrested on charges of sale or deliver of Shedule II methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were booked into the Hamblen County jail on a $40,000 bond each.
The investigation began by the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office on Friday when narcotics officers were tipped off about a black Impala with a drive out tag driven by Dobbs and that he had a large amount of methamphetamine, according to an affidavit.
At 10:56 p.m., deputies found the Impala located in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Suites on West Andrew Johnson Highway.
Deputies saw Ramsey get out of the car and enter the hotel and began talking to Dobbs.
Deputies searched the car and found a plastic purple heart that contained 43.7 grams of methamphetamine. They also found a metal tray with residue, a glass pipe, commonly used to smoke drugs digital scales, empty baggies and a dollar bill rolled up in a backpack that appeared to have methamphetamine residue on it, the affidavit said.
As Ramsey walked back out of the hotel, both her and Dobbs were taken into custody.
