Driver charged in car versus motorcycle crash

A Morristown woman was charged in a crash that occurred Sunday evening on Morris Boulevard.

According to a report from the Morristown Police Department, around 7:28 p.m., a 2007 Mazda sedan driven by Davida Bell, 43, was traveling west on East Morris Boulevard when it attempted a left turn onto South Liberty Hill Road.

Jessica McNew, 32, was a passenger in the car driven by Bell, authorities said.

Bell’s car struck a 2004 Honda motorcycle driven by Lynn Seals, 45, of Morristown, as she attempted the turned in front of her. Bell left the scene of the accident, authorities said.

Seals was flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, the report stated. His condition was unknown as of press time.

Bell is charged with driving on a revoked license, leaving the scene of an accident, violation of financial responsibility, violation of registration law and failure to exercise due care.

Bell was tested for possible drug use.

The crash is still under investigation, according to the report.
