Detectives monitoring a hand-to-hand drug transaction in the parking lot of Stop-n-Go on Buffalo Trail led to a Morristown man being arrested when he was found with heroin, Gabapentin, Ecstasy and a large amount of methamphetamine, authorities said.
Jason Lee Hollyfield, 40, of Mohawk Drive, was arrested Monday on two counts of possession of Schedule I drugs, a count of possession of Schedule II drugs, possession of Schedule V drugs for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is being held in the Hamblen County jail on a $20,000 bond.
Hamblen County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Vice Unit deputies saw Hollyfield, who was driving an orange Jeep, conduct a drug deal at 10:18 p.m. Tuesday at the Stop-n-Go, according to an affidavit.
He had a white coffee cup in his hand that had two baggies of methamphetamine inside, authorities said.
In his front shorts pocket, he was carrying a bag of heroin and $2,575 in cash.
Narcotics detectives searched the Jeep and found a scale, baggies and more methamphetamine in a black bag on the driver’s side floor. Detectives also found 58 pills of Gabapentin and a bag full of 20 pills believed to be Ecstasy.
A field test resulted in a positive return for methamphetamine, the affidavit stated.
Detectives said he was found with 22.5 grams of methamphetamine and 1.3 grams of heroin.
