The B-17 Aluminum Overcast is returning to Morristown after a popular inaugural engagement last year.

Lakeway Area residents are invited to relive that story on a historic flight aboard the Experimental Aircraft Association’s restored B-17 Flying Fortress, Aluminum Overcast on Nov. 1-3 at the Morristown Regional Airport.

More than just an airplane, the B-17 is living history that holds a remarkable connection to the past.

Today, it serves as a tribute to those known as the greatest generation: the men and women who built and served on the heavy bombers in the 1940s.

Relive the story. Join the flight.

All the ticket proceeds support the EAA, a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing the Spirit of Aviation with everyone. Tour stops are hosted by volunteers who are passionate about sharing the B-17’s stories.

Revenues from the B-17 tour help cover maintenance and operations costs for the aircraft and aid EAA’s ambition to “keep them flying” for many years to come.

Reservations are being booked now for the Morristown stop on Nov. 1-3. Reservations booked in advance is $409 for EAA members and $449 for nonmembers. On flight days, walk-up rates are $435 for EAA members and $475 for nonmembers.

Ground tours of the aircraft will also be available from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day, weather permitting. Cost is $10 per person, $20 family rate for adults and children up to age 17. Children under eight years of age are free with a paying adult. Free admission for veterans and active military.
