Hawkins County woman to plead guilty to meth charges
Hawkins County resident Erika Faith Lovell indicated Monday she will plead guilty to conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a charge that’s normally accompanied by a 10-year, minimum-mandatory federal prison term, according to court documents.
Lovell was a lock for a 50-gram conviction in March 2018 when a Hawkins County Sheriff’s Department detective stopped her vehicle in Church Hill and confiscated 70 grams of crystal meth and $2,668 in suspected drug-sales proceeds.
Lovell told deputies that she had sold an ounce of crystal meth shortly before the traffic stop, according to her plea agreement.
The Hawkins County detective stopped Lovell because he knew her driver’s license was suspended. It’s not clear when Lovell will appear in court to formally admit guilt.
