It was a Thanksgiving meal without turkey, but all received a meal Saturday at Food on Foot’s annual Thanksgiving meal distribution.

Cornish hens took the place of turkey due to the high price of turkey this season. The other fixings for the meal were there, such as stuffing, yams, marshmallows, corn, beans and other items. Since students will be out of school in Hamblen County this week for the holiday, there was also spaghetti noodles and sauce, plus macaroni and cheese packed to keep children fed. Finally, there was cake mix and corn muffin mix, potatoes, cranberries and more.
