Choosing to keep schedules on track, or not, into 2021 are the subjects of ongoing meetings in Morristown. For those organizations that depend on large fundraisers for their charitable work, the choices are difficult.

The Kiwanis Club board of directors has decided to cancel its 2021 Kiwanis Kapers program.

“To protect the public, our supporters, and our members, The Kiwanis Club of Morristown has made the decision to cancel the annual Kapers Concert with Balsam Range, scheduled for March 7, 2021,” Kiwanis President E.C. Reed said.

The concert had been postponed from spring 2020.

“The Kiwanis Club of Morristown normally holds this concert as our largest fundraiser that allows us to keep in line with our club’s goal: To make our community better by serving one child at a time. The proceeds from sponsors and ticket sales goes directly back into our local community to support organizations including: The Boys and Girls Club, Girls Inc., Kingswood Home for Children, HC*EXCELL, The Imagination Library, and the Boy Scouts,” Reed said.

Those who purchased tickets for the 2020 Kapers and held on to them to be honored at the 2021 program have two options. They can either consider the ticket purchase to be a donation to the ongoing work of the Kiwanis Club or they can request a refund.

For those who purchased tickets and would like a refund, send a written request to The Kiwanis Club of Morristown, Inc P.O. Box 1002 Morristown, TN 37816-1002.

Include a name and address, as well as the unused tickets or email confirmation. Refunds will be issued on requests received through 12/31/2020.

“No action is necessary if you would like to consider your ticket purchase a donation to the club,” Reed said.
