JTEKT will be hosting a recycling event this Saturday, giving residents a chance to get rid of hard to discard items.
The BOPAE event (Batteries, Oil, Paint and Electronic Waste) will be held at JTEKT Plant No. 3, 5937 Commerce Boulevard.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Becky Jo Moles, executive director of Keep Morristown Hamblen Beautiful, said it’s a very important event that helps residents discard items, while also being environmentally friendly.
“Its things you haven’t figured out what to do with,” she said.
The event is for residential recycling only.
The type of acceptable waste for the recycling event includes the following:
• Automotive or rechargeable batteries

• Latex water based paint
• Laptops and desktop computers
• Computer components
• Cell phones and other telephones
• Stereo equipment
• Video game consoles and video games
• Microwave ovens

• Plastic, metal and cardboard
The event is sponsored by JTEKT, Tuff Torq and Enterprise Oil. Other sponsors include Keep Morristown Hamblen Beautiful, Motion Industries, Cintas, East Tennessee Iron & Metal and Morristown Iron & Metal.
