The Boys & Girls Club of Morristown is set to reopen for club members on Monday, August 3 after closing July 21 when a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.
The club will be open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with club members allowed to be dropped off beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The TEENSupreme Center will be open Thursdays from 6-9 p.m.
“We are ready to open the club back up for our club members,” Executive Director John Seals said. “Our staff has done an excellent job to make sure that we have gone above and beyond the health departments guidelines to safely open our facility.”
Seals said the staff member who originally tested positive is doing well and is still in quarantine protocol. Five other people affiliated with the club tested positive. All were asymptomatic.
“Safety is always our No. 1 priority at the Boys & Girls Club of Morristown and we do everything possible to keep our club members, staff and volunteers protected,” Seals said.
The Boys & Girls Club of Morristown is a participating agency of the United Way of Hamblen County.
