State officials reported the first confirmed death in the Lakeway Area Wednesday afternoon of novel coronavirus, or COVID-19.

State records show that one person has died in Greene County. Allan Levine, CEO of Ballad Health, said the man was over 70 years old and was high risk due to his age and other factors.

There are 15 confirmed cases in Greene County at this time, the most within the area.

The state reported an increase of one more confirmed case in Hamblen County, bringing the county’s total to 3.

Tennessee Department of Health officials started reporting deaths by county today.

  • Grainger: 3
  • Greene: 15, 1 death
  • Hamblen: 3
  • Hawkins: 5
  • Jefferson: 6
