On Tuesday, Keith Coates, president of the Rotary AM Foundation, and Eric Carpenter, president of the Rotary Club of Morristown, presented a check for $2,000 to Ashley Hux, executive director of Morristown-Hamblen Central Services.

The contribution is the second part of a $5,000 donation made by the Rotary-Family Youth Initiative Inc. through The Rotary Club of Morristown Foundation. A $3,000 check was presented in May.

“I’m very appreciative of the Rotary AM Club and the Rotary Club,” Hux said. “Their generosity and help throughout, especially this time, because we’ve had a large amount of people in need, are honored to serve the community through this. Even with facemasks and social distancing, it’s an honor to be able to do what we do. We appreciate their support.”

The funds are to assist COVID affected residents in need of food, clothing, rent and electricity. These funds will hopefully make life a little easier for members of the community who are in need of assistance.
