Rose Center Council for the Arts invites all Lakeway residents to join them in celebrating the holiday season with several holiday events for the entire family.

“We have so much going on, and we are so thankful for all of our successes this year. We could not do what we do without all the wonderful support from the community. The Holiday Open House is a simple gathering of our friends, supporters, and families celebrating the season, saying thank you, and looking ahead to the new year”, says Candy Durman.

Rose Center festivities get underway the week after Thanksgiving, when volunteers from the Rose Service Guild begin decorating the trees and building. The Holiday Open House will be held on December 6th, and features a variety of local musicians, choral groups, and artists. There will be delicious treats provided by the Rose Service Guild. The open house begins at six PM and lasts through 8 PM.

There will not be a weekend craft fair associated with the Open House this year explains Beccy Hamm, Rose Center Executive Director. “With the Smithsonian Exhibit coming right on the heels of Mountain Makins this year, we had to forego the holiday craft fair. It was a hard decision, but hosting the Smithsonian tour was an opportunity for us that we simply could not pass up, says Beccy Hamm. She adds, “We will revisit the possibility of a craft fair next year and with enough interest we may bring it back again.”

Rose Center is also offering a seasonal Java Jive on December 20th, with An Inspire Collective Christmas show featuring Antonio Gomez. In a winning partnership, Rose Center and Inspire Muzik Studio have completed their first year of monthly concerts for 2019. To celebrate the relationship and to kick off the release of an Inspire Muzik Christmas album, Java Jive will feature Antonio Gomez and friends bringing all the holiday feels in this free concert series.

“We are excited about celebrating this great accomplishment with Antonio. Our partnership with Inspire Muzik has been great for Rose Center, and we hope to continue the successful relationship all through 2020”, says Candy Durman Java Jive coordinator. “Java Jive regulars will get all their favorites—we have our usual table seating, free-range snacking, and our awesome Golden Cocktail Nappy of Distinction for the best-looking food. We are also giving an award for best holiday table décor during this show”, says Durman of the event.

Guests are permitted to bring their favorite snacks, small coolers, and their favorite beverages to Java Jive concerts. The show is free to the public. Seating is first-come, first-serve, general admission table seating.
