She took a marketing position in Seattle, Washington, which, coincidentally, is where Kevin was raised.
He is a 2008 graduate of Cornell University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Government, and is a 2012 graduate of the University of Washington School of Law.
How do you fight?
Honestly we don’t fight very often! Being open with each other and not letting things fester has helped us avoid conflict. We are honest with each other about what’s on our mind, and we don’t let the sun go down on our anger.
Most of the time our fights are because of a misunderstanding or miscommunication, and our conflict can be resolved with some active listening and sharing our perspectives.
Do you get sick of each other?
We have an 18 month-old at home. Don’t have time to get sick of each other!
Who picks the vacation spots?
We are lucky to have family and friends all over the country. Most of our vacations are dedicated to visiting people we both love. And we both love spending time at the beach.
Who pays the bills?
Who washes the dishes?
What is the worst habit of your spouse?
Kevin: Kat is too messy.
Katherine: Kevin likes to de-clutter but shoves things in random drawers which makes it hard to find stuff afterwards.
How have you managed to do this for so long?
Katherine: Wine? Just kidding—we love each other and the home we built together.
Kevin: And I constantly remind Kat that she took an oath!
