An outdoor spring event in East Tennessee is a gamble. There’s always a chance that the weather can be cold, rainy or stormy or some combination of the above.

But Saturday, Spring Thyme in the Festival organizers rolled the dice and won. The weather was perfect Saturday, April 25 for the annual festival that brings artists, musicians, vendors, crafters and growers and planters together in the garden at the Rose Center.

As always, there were a wide variety of plants available for purchase and ready to be planted that very afternoon.

Artists and crafters sold their wares while dogs from the Grainger County Humane Society rested in the shade, hoping for their forever homes.

Music is always a big part of the Spring Thyme event and Rose Center officials used the day as an opportunity to audition a wide range of musicians for later appearances at the Rose Center.
