The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has issued an Endangered Child Alert for a five-year-old Hawkins County girl who was last seen Tuesday night.
According to reports, Summer Moon-Utah Wells, of Ben Hill Road, Rogersville, was last seen around 7 p.m. Tuesday leaving her residence. Summer is four feet tall, has blonde hair and was last seen wearing a pink shirt and gray shorts.
A massive air to ground search in the Beech Creek area is underway, involving the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s helicopter, as well as the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office, Hawkins County Rescue Squad, Church Hill Rescue Squad, Goshen Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Carters Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Hawkins County Emergency Management Agency, Hawkins County EMS, Highlands Emergency Air Rescue and Transport, Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, the TBI and Hawkins County E-911. The search was paused Tuesday night due to unsafe terrain. Personnel from the Federal Bureau of Investigation are also on the scene.
A command post was established by Hawkins County E-911 and Hawkins County Rescue Squad at the intersection of Beech Creek Road and Blairs Gap Road. Sheriff Ronnie Lawson advised the public to avoid the area if at all possible.
