The Morristown-Hamblen East High School Choir will be livestreaming tonight as it presents an ambitious choral arrangement in a new way.
Brandon Moore, director of the East High School Choir, said the performances will be conducted by the Women’s Choir and the Advanced Choir.
“The kids are eager to perform and we wanted to make it happen,” he said.
The show will be broadcast live on the East High School YouTube channel. The first show will be 6 p.m. featuring the Women’s Choir and at 8 p.m. the Advanced Choir will be performing.
Each show will be around a half hour long, Moore said.
“It won’t take up their whole evening, but it will be worth their while,” he said.
The choirs will perform classical choral arrangements, spiritual songs and pop songs.
Some of the selections include “Free Ride,” “Don’t Stop Believing” and a Kanye West song from his Sunday Service choir.
Moore said there will be lights and affects to make it just like a regular performance the choir would usually conduct if there were 1,000 people in the audience.
Instead, this time there would be no audience to abide by COVID-19 regulations.
He said all of the choir students, totaling about 90, will be socially distanced and wearing masks throughout the performance.
