Dollywood again has earned a top honor from the National Amusement Park Historical Association, being named as one of the association’s favorite theme parks in the country.
Dollywood finished in a three-way tie for the NAPHA Favorite Theme Park of 2021. Disneyland in Anaheim, California, and Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia, were the co-winners of the award. Dollywood also won the award in 2017.
Members of the NAPHA vote in the annual survey to determine the best parks and attractions across several categories. NAPHA members are experienced riders who have visited countless amusement parks and have ridden a diverse assortment of roller coasters and other attractions. The average member has been to more than one hundred different amusement parks and has ridden nearly 370 roller coasters.
The NAPHA was founded in 1978 and is an international educational and enthusiast’s organization dedicated to preserving and documenting the heritage of the amusement park industry’s past, present and future.
The award from the NAPHA follows the most recent USA Today 10Best voting which saw Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa earn the title of Best Amusement Park Hotel in the country.
Currently, park guests can enjoy the Flower & Food Festival presented by Covenant Health (now – June 5). During this year’s installment of the festival, guests can appreciate the vibrant beauty of more than a million blooms, explore the fresh flavors of spring with an immersive tasting pass and delight in unique entertainment offerings.
This is the perfect year to purchase a season pass in order to create memories with family and friends at the park all year long. Once the Flower & Food Festival concludes, the fun continues with Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration presented by Bush’s Beans (June 18-Aug. 7), which features an expanded drone and fireworks show every night. Guests can experience the all-new Hoot Owl Hollow as part of this year’s Harvest Festival presented by Humana (Sept. 23-Oct. 29), then they can get in the holiday spirit with Smoky Mountain Christmas presented by Humana (Nov. 5-Jan. 1, 2023).
West End Ink is located on 3763 West Andrew Johnson Hwy and is open Tuesday through Friday from 12pm to 9pm and Saturday 3pm to 9pm. The shop has been serving the community since 2020 when the owner Jose Aguilar decided to venture out on the business side of tattooing.
