Tickets available for Theatre Guild fundraiser starring Flockhart and produced by Ford

Harrison Ford, left, and Calista Flockhart arrive at the world premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, in Los Angeles. Ford is producing and Flockhart is starring in a Morristown Theatre Guild production of “Steel Magnolias” on Saturday, June 11.

Tickets are still available for a unique, one-night-only fundraiser brought to Morristown by the Morristown Theatre Guild and the Morristown Healthcare System Patient Assistance Fund.

A staged reading of Robert Harling’s play, “Steel Magnolias” will be held Saturday, June 11 at 8 p.m. at the Humanities Theatre on the Morristown campus of Walters State Community College.

Produced by Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart, directed by David Horton and starring Calista and Kay Flockhart, Kellie Ward, Katrina Bosse, Becky Shirley and Sherri Jacobs, the event will feature a talk-back with the cast, as well as a reception following.

The project was originally conceived more than two years ago but was postponed due to COVID.

“We wanted a way to rally support not only for the arts, which have suffered so through the pandemic, but also work with a health-related charity due to the subject matter of the play,” Kay Flockhart said.

“We think this is a great opportunity for people to donate and support these vital non-profit organizations and, in turn, be rewarded with a great reading and a reception.”

Seating for the event is limited and tickets will not be sold at the door.

Those willing to participate can make their donation and receive tickets by going to the Guild website
