Legacy Theatre has announced its upcoming production of “Sanders Family Christmas,” the exciting sequel to Connie Ray and Alvin Bailey’s wildly successful bluegrass gospel musical, “Smoke on the Mountain.” The setting is 1941 when America is going to war – and so is Dennis Sanders of the Sanders Family Singers.

If you’re looking for an awesome way to kick off the holiday season, come join Legacy for an evening of hilarious and touching stories and Southern Gospel Christmas favorites.

Benjamin Myers returns to the cast as Pastor Mervin Oglethorpe; Joe Sellars and Mindy Williams play Burl and Vera Sanders, the proud parents of the Sanders family. Brandon Jessie and MacKenzie Myers play the Sanders twins, Dennis and Denise with Autumn Leming portraying older sister, June, who “doesn’t sing, but signs.” Rounding out the cast, for the first time on the Legacy stage, is Greg Shockley as Burl’s brother, Stanley. Along with these talented singers is an incredible bluegrass band led by Arlan Williams, and made up of David Combs, Bryne Hill and also, for the first time on the Legacy stage, Mark Lewis and Alan Rhyne.
