8th annual Mossy Creek Cruzers ‘Fill the Truck with Toys’ Car Show

The Mossy Creek Cruzers’ “Fill the Truck with Toys” Car Show in Dandridge, (Chestnut Hill) will be 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24 in the ballfield at Bush’s Visitor Center, 3901 U.S. Hwy. 411.

It’s time for the Mossy Creek Cruzers’ “Fill the Truck with Toys” Car Show in Dandridge, (Chestnut Hill).

The show will be 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24 in the ball field at Bush’s Visitor Center, 3901 U.S. Hwy. 411.

Friends will gather to enjoy music, beautiful vehicles, fun games and, of course, the good food at the show as well as Bush’s Cafe.

The registration fee to enter a vehicle in the show is a new, unwrapped toy which is donated to Christmas in Jefferson County. People’s Choice trophies will be awarded, voted on by the people who enter the show.

Visitors may walk around the car area and look at some of the most beautiful antique and classic cars and trucks in East Tennessee. Vehicles from Jefferson and surrounding counties and even a few from out of state will be on site, including the unique rat rods everyone finds so fascinating. With the vast variety of vehicles displayed, visitors should be able to find one a favorite to admire.

Spectator admission is free to all.

Music supplied from DJ Richard French from the 1950s and 1960s will be playing throughout the day for the pleasure of the crowd.

There are games scheduled to play at different times of the day, including a Poker Walk game where players walk to five different places to draw a card then back to the starting spot. The games will be played all day and are free to play with a prize of a gold dollar.

Cake walks are scheduled throughout the day and winners will win their choice of a cake, donuts or cookies. Listen for the cake walk to be announced when time to start.

The smell of good food will float through the air with hot dogs and hamburgers or guests may take the short walk to Bush’s Cafe and try one of their meals.

The Mossy Creek Cruzers Car Club was established in 2012 and is a non-profit club. The funds raised at this show will help fund local charities. The club helps support Jefferson County Rescue Squad, Christmas in Jefferson County, Scottish Rites Shoes for Children, and a scholarship fund for senior students who are in the Mossy Creek Cruzers Junior Car Club at Jefferson County High School, as well as several other charities in other counties. including Kingswood Home for Children.
