One of them Duke boys is bringing Bo’s Extravaganza: On the Road to Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap this weekend.
John Schneider, best known for his role of “Bo Duke” on “Dukes of Hazard,” has been holding a festival on his birthday in Louisiana for years, and after hearing about how people could not make the journey to his farm he decided to hit the road to bring the party to the people.
“I can’t stress enough that we need to have fun, get out and meet new people and enjoy conversations, political and otherwise,” Schneider said, “Just enjoy conversation and get back out and meet ourselves again.
“You’ve got to fall back into love with your hometown and the people in it. At the end of the day, we’re all that we have. Let’s put this behind us and step out into the field or the race track and hang out with people.”
There will be racing, live music, celebrity autographs, movie showings, a car show, food, a stunt show and more.
Friday night will feature events for VIP ticket holders.
Saturday will feature the car show, live music and late model pro racing at the track starting at 7pm.
The festivities will close out on Sunday with Cowboy Church at 10 a.m. and some more live music.
General admission gates will open at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and weekend passes for those days are $40.
