There will be an early opportunity for spooks and goblins to participate in Halloween activities Monday, Oct. 25 at Fred Miller Park in Morristown.

From 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., the park, along with Morristown Park and Recreation Department will host this year’s “BooFest.”

Back again this year is the “Trick or Treat Trail,” which is open to all organizations wishing to be involved. There will be a contest for best decorated vendors’ booth, voted on by fellow guys and ghouls. The best decorated booth will receive a plaque to show at their place of business. Businesses and organizations are vital to the success of this event.

Vendors have always found this event to be an excellent way to showcase their business, organization, or church to the community. The Parks and Rec Department welcomes/encourages the community to participate this year. The department looks forward to partnering with businesses to make Halloween safer for the children of our area.

The Parks and Rec Office will distribute 500 cards that will allow early entry into the event. Those cards will allow entry between 4:30-5:30 pm, after this time everyone will be general admission for the “Trick or Treat Trail.”

“By dedicating one hour to early entry, we feel this will allow the flow after 5:30 p.m. to be smoother and quicker.” Jennifer Gentry, program coordinator, said. “We ask that attendees abide by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines as well as the non-smoking event rules.”
