Dimestore Cowboys to play at Fulton-Hill Park

The Dimestore Cowboys will play at Fulton-Hill Park Thursday night from 6 to 8 p.m.

The city of Morristown’s Parks and Recreations Department will be hosting The Dimestore Cowboys for a concert at Fulton-Hill Park Thursday night from 6 to 8 p.m.

The concert is part of the Summer Jam Series in the city and is sponsored by Zach Coffey State Farm.

Uncle P’s Backyard Barbeque will be providing food during the concert.

James Brashears and Jason Shaffer worked together around 15 years ago for a locally owned company when they realized that they shared a love for old country music.

Brashears had been recording some old gospel tunes in a local studio and shared some of the recordings with Shaffer. The two of them started joking around about the idea of writing country songs together and playing shows.

That was the beginning of “The Dimestore Cowboys.”

Now, after 15 years, over 200 shows, three records and four added band members later, the guys still share that love for old country music but fleshed out in new songs.

Brashears is the lead vocalist and Shaffer plays bass. Tyler Petty (guitar), Justin Louthian (drums), Jason Vapor (keys), and Lisa Pattison (fiddle) round out the band.
