Lined up with Club board members Leroy Royston, Richie Broyles and Logan Wild are club Staff members and club members, representatives from several local car dealerships Rusty Wallace GMC Kia, Farris Jeep Ram Chrysler Dodge, Morristown Chevrolet, Honda at Morristown, T & T Auto Sales, Hugh Thomas Glenn and Marla Seals with Advanced Tool & Machine ready to help raise over $85,000 for the Club’s Operating Budget.
It’s Super Auction Time in Tennessee. The stage is set and the time is here for the 41st Annual Super Auction to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Morristown.
The auction is set to begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 6th, at the club facility located at 311 Sulphur Springs Road. This year’s event will feature a large selection and variety of items in a fun-filled day of excitement and deals.
More importantly, all the proceeds raised from the auction will be used to directly support the club’s operating budget and the more than 1,000 club members it serves.
“Our community is never ceases to amaze me. We have been blessed by the outpouring of support with the generous donations of hundreds of items.” Executive Director John Seals said. “We are once again honored and humbled that so many folks believe in our organization and more importantly, want to support our members.”
The goal this year is to raise over $85,000.
The auction will mirror last year’s event with a couple of slight adjustments/additions including: the auction will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (10-1 p.m. inside and 1-2 p.m. outside), attendees will register to bid under the small tent outside, the gift certificate table/booth will be inside where attendees can purchase items directly and concessions will be under the big tent outside.
In addition, there will be a gift shop available for people to purchase items both Friday night (at the viewing) and Saturday.
Seals was excited to share some of the donations given for this year’s event by supporters.
“We have two lots, eight vehicles, two riding lawnmowers, a vacation package, a set of performance pistons, two UT Season Football tickets and a pair of UT Mens Basketball tickets, a Seadoo, Electric Golf Cart, lots of really nice furniture pieces, advertising packages and appliances just to name a few,” Seals said.
Other donations include: a set of braces by Mckenna Orthodontics, two silver dollars and one peace dollar by Judge John Dugger, six month Ceramix Wash Packages by Ultimate Shine, over 50+ restaurant gift cards/certificates, over 50+ other area businesses have also donated gift certificates, new recliner by Lovin’s Wholesale Furniture, Family Membership at East TN Gun Club, Handmade Knives with leather sheaths by Jerry Dillard and Lazarus Forge, (4) Burial Plots in Hamblen Memorial Gardens by Hugh Thomas Glenn, a New Queen Mattress set by Volunteer Blind Industries, UT Autograph Basketballs and a Josh Heupel Autograph Football by First Horizon along with so much more.
The Club will host an auction preview at 6 p.m. tonight. Some items not able to be auctioned will be available for sale at the preview.
“I just want to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to make plans to attend this year’s auction. We have a lot of great items up for bid (about 175) with a great opportunity to reach our goal even with a shortened time frame (10 a.m.-2:30 p.m.).
Parking will be available in the TCAT parking lot located just above the club off Rosedale Drive and the back parking lots behind the club.
