It’s mid-October, but it’s almost time for one of Morristown’s holiday traditions.
The ALPS Adult Day Services Festival of Trees is coming up Nov. 5 at the center located at 600 North Daisy Street. The festival of Trees give the Lakeway Area a chance to see the facility that serves 25 Lakeway Area families.
According to Director of Social Impact Jordan Patterson, ALPS is looking for new to gently used items including Christmas trees of any size, wreaths, garland and Christmas decorations, ornaments, tree toppers, ribbons and tree skirts.
“We are always asking for any size trees, wreaths and any holiday-themed baskets,” Patterson said. “Gift cards are also helpful to be usable in purchase of holiday items.”
Patterson said that last year’s event resulted in donation of eight baskets, 33 wreaths, 22 small trees, 31 large trees and 25 other items. As with last year’s festival, the silent auction for items will take place online. Details on how to participate will released as the event gets closer.
“Proceeds will go back into the funding which keeps costs low for our families,” Patterson said.
Due to COVID-19, the Harvest Café will not take place this season.
