Jimmy L. and Madge Davis will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Friday, June 1.
They were married at Big Creek Baptist Church in Rogersville on Sunday, June 1, 1958.
They moved to Morristown in 1959, and with the exception of two years of Army life in Virginia, they have proudly called it their home since.
Mr. Davis has been a barber and hairstylist for over 50 years. He owns Utopia West Hair Design, where he is still cutting hair. He loves golfing and has had seven holes-in-one.
Mrs. Davis has directed the Buffalo Trail Baptist Church nursery for over 50 years and has also worked at Kelly’s Kids early learning center for over 25 years. She loves children and teaching them.
They are the proud parents of Tracilla LeAnn Davis Carroll, a teacher, and Anthony LeAlan Davis, owner and director of Kelly’s Kids.
Their grandchildren, the apple of their eyes, are Johnathan Davis Carroll, a Best Buy “Geek Squad” installer in Florida; Larissa “Laci” Carroll, a sophomore at Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee; and Gabrielle “Gabby” Davis and fiancé Zachary P. Jamison, both seniors at East Tennessee State University.
