WSCC offering community education classes

The Walters State Community College Division of Community Education plans auctioneering, limited license contractor, parenting and divorce, self defense and computer classes during March and April.

 “Microsoft Excel – Level 3” will be offered three times in March, with dates at both the Morristown and Greeneville/Greene County campuses. The fee is $175 and includes a textbook.

 “Getting Started With Your PC” meets the evenings of March 25 and April 8 at the Morristown campus. The fee for this class is $129.

 An auctioneering course will meet from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, April 16 through May 8 at the Walters State Greeneville/ Greene County Campus. The cost of the class is $409. Students will be taught auctioneering in an easy-tounderstand format. Topics include ethical and professional auctioneer operations. Upon completion of the course and passing the gallery exam, students may submit an application for gallery license. The class fee does not include the cost of licensure.

 Self Defense will be taught from 9 a.m. to noon on April 27 and May 4 at the WSCC Morristown Campus. The cost is $60 per person. The class is for anyone over the age of 12. Students will be taught practical and effective defense techniques, including survival mindset, conflict avoidance, standing combat, breaking holds and disarming.

 Parents, Children and Divorce is a court-ordered class designed to help divorcing parents communicate better with each other and with their children. The class will meet from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on April 18 at the Greene Technology Center on Hal Henard Road. The fee is $50.

 Computer classes beginning in April include Introduction to QuickBooks, which will be taught online. Microsoft Excel – Level 1 will be taught on both the Walters State Morristown and Greeneville/ Greene County Campus. Microsoft Excel – Level 3 will be offered at the Greeneville/Greene County Campus.
