The Rotary Club of Morristown A.M. recently donated approximately $1,000 worth of materials and equipment to the Davis Homes Library in Morristown.

The donation was made as part of the club’s Core Skill Development program, the purpose of which is to help improve student reading readiness in Hamblen County.

Among the items donated were multiple sets of “The Hunger Games” trilogy of books, provided for the Davis Homes Library Book Club.

Foam squares were donated for the creation of reading and storytelling areas, as well as first reader books for the library’s summer reading program.

DVDs and other literacy development materials were also donated, which will help parents assist their children in becoming proficient readers.
