KMHB is a volunteer based, non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status.
The education agency focuses on three points of the community: litter prevention, beautification and community greening, and solid waste management/recycling.
KMHB is funded by the State Litter Grant Program, Hamblen County, the City of Morristown, membership contributions from individuals, families, businesses, and industries, and in-kind from the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce.
The mission is to make its community a more beautiful place to live in a cost-effective way.
The agency is an award-winning, certified affiliate of the national organization, Keep America Beautiful Inc.
Through education and awareness, the goals are to achieve sustained litter reduction in our community, to encourage voluntary recycling and to put into practice effective waste management. Using a variety of programs, agency staff educate businesses, industries, school systems, and residents on goals for community improvement and beautification.
KMHB accepts applications year-round for its community improvement awards. The award acknowledges local residents and businesses who take pride in their properties through beautification and overall improvement.
