Cornerstone Academy senior Joshua DeLisle was recently named a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
According to a press release made by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in September, bout 1.5 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program.
They entered by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test that, along with other academic, community, and leadership criteria, determines eligibility to receive scholarship money and the honor of academic distinction.
Cornerstone Academy officials expressed delight and pride in DeLisle’s selection as a finalist.
“Joshua is gifted with a fine mind, and he has chosen to make the most of his academic opportunities. He is an articulate and engaging young man, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for him,” Interim Cornerstone Headmaster Dr. Byron Greene said.
DeLisle, the son of Keith and Jean DeLisle of Parrotsville, is currently considering his college options.
