      The Morristown-Hamblen Emergency Management Agency will host a first aid/CPR/AED course on Monday, Jan. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 28. The class times are 6 to 9:45 p.m. The class takes place in the training room of the Morristown Fire Department, 454 W. Louise St., Morristown.
      Instructor Don Ellison will teach students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illness, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims.
      The hands-on class uses mannequins to learn all correct aspects of first aid/CPR and AED and complies with OSHA workplace requirements.
      Successful students receive a certificate valid for two years. To receive certification, it is necessary to attend both nights.
      There is a $5 (cash only) fee that must be paid at the beginning of the class. Receipts will be provided, if needed.
      The deadline to register for the class is noon, Thursday, Jan. 21.

Each child ages 5 -12 can bring one stuffed animal to compete in various creative categories for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons. Some of the categories from past pageants have included biggest ears, smallest eyes, mini-me, team pride, and others where children have a chance to show off their favorite stuffed animal.
