Join Ranger Shaun at the big shelter nearest the overlook for a guided hike to the Hunt Knob Peninsula, where you will watch the sunset (6:04 p.m.) over Cherokee Lake. You use the moderately strenuous, Ridgecrest Trail to make the ascent back to the Pavilion. Wear proper footwear, bring a flashlight and water. Also, don’t forget your camera.
