  referred to <em>Uncle Tom’s Cabin</em> author\, Harriet Beecher Stowe<em>
\, </em>as “the little woman who wrote the book that started this great wa
r.”  Legend or true\, the phrase is an apt description of her work written
in 1853 in galvanizing many against slavery.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Join the E
ast Tennessee Historical Society for a riveting and dramatic performance\,
as actress Elizabeth Davidson will introduce us to the career and very pe
rsonal struggles of this complex and important historic figure.  Davidson
researched Stowe’s life and legacy to write the play\, which features a fi
ctionalized account of a meeting between the author and one of her detract
ors.  The one-woman performance lasts about an hour.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Eli
zabeth Davidson is a Nashville-based performer with 30 years experience. A
graduate of the prestigious Indiana University School of Music\, she has
performed in theatres around the country and in a wide range of genres.</p
